About the role
The Social Media Manager will lead and deliver the end-to-end social media, paid social, and influencer strategy for the Halfords Group.
This role blends commercial focus with creative thinking - managing paid social, digital display, online video, organic social, and influencer activity to drive measurable performance. You’ll be the in-house expert on all things social and influencer, working closely with media agencies and the brand team to create social-first creative that delivers results and builds brand love across key seasonal campaigns.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and lead the social, influencer, and paid social strategy to align with Halfords Group’s commercial and brand goals.
- Own the influencer marketing process, including talent selection, briefing, creative development, and performance measurement.
- Act as the expert on social and influencer trends across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, bringing fresh ideas and insights.
- Collaborate with brand and content teams to create social-first campaigns that enhance brand storytelling across all platforms.
- Manage digital display and online video campaigns, ensuring integration with the overall digital media strategy.
- Use data-driven insights to optimise campaigns, test creative formats, refine targeting, and maximise ROI.
- Work closely with agency partners for top-quality execution and continuous improvement.
- Oversee budget management, reporting, and presentation of social, influencer, display, and video campaign performance to stakeholders.
- Champion creativity and storytelling that connects with audiences and reinforces Halfords’ position as a trusted, modern brand.
- Present results to key stakeholders across the business, highlighting commercial impact and opportunities for growth.
About you
- Established experience managing organic social and paid social, ideally within retail, e-commerce or another fast-paced consumer business.
- Proven experience leading large-scale paid social campaigns and managing influencer programmes.
- Hands-on experience across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and emerging platforms.
- Solid understanding of digital display and online video, including creative best practice and performance measurement.
- Strong grasp of attribution modelling, data interpretation and proving ROI across channels.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance creative excellence and performance results.
- Excellent relationship management skills, confident working with internal stakeholders and agency partners.
- Highly organised with great attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple campaigns at once.
- Motivational leadership style - energetic, collaborative and focused on developing others.
