The role
As a Project Manager, you’ll play a vital role in delivering technically complex, business-critical security projects that underpin the future of identity and access across the organisation. You’ll own the day-to-day direction of projects, with a focus on Identity & Access Management (IAM), working closely with internal teams, tech partners and senior stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions that really make a difference.
You’ll thrive in this role if you’re a delivery-focused project manager with a strong technical grounding in security or IAM environments, ideally including SSO / Pathlock. You bring structure, build trust with stakeholders, and ask the right questions to remove blockers and keep momentum. You're comfortable operating in fast-paced, often ambiguous environments, and experienced at navigating legacy systems and engaging with less tech-savvy teams to bring them along the journey.
This is your chance to make a meaningful impact, working at the heart of critical security transformation, where your expertise will shape how identity is managed across the organisation. With more projects on the horizon and growing demand for IAM capability, it’s also an opportunity to grow your role and establish yourself as a specialist leader in this space.
Key responsibilities
- Own the planning and delivery of IAM-focused security projects, ensuring delivery to time, budget and quality
- Run project governance and cadence: set agendas, track actions, and remove blockers
- Manage project budgets and resource allocation effectively across complex workstreams
- Provide regular reporting and progress updates to stakeholders, including risks and issues
- Navigate technical challenges involving legacy systems, SSO integration and SAP environments
- Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels—building trust, managing change, and creating alignment
- Guide and support an evolving technical team through complex security rollouts
- Ensure adherence to internal project standards, data and architectural principles
About you
- Proven experience delivering technical or security projects, especially within IAM, SSO or cybersecurity
- Deep understanding of Identity & Access Management (IAM), including experience delivering security or SSO solutions (e.g. Pathlock)
- Strong working knowledge of traditional Waterfall project methods (Agile experience is a bonus)
- Confident communicator with excellent influencing skills, able to engage and align senior stakeholders
- Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships across technical and non-technical teams
- Delivery-focused and hands-on, driven to get results and overcome obstacles with practical solutions
- Familiar with benefits management and business change principles, focused on impact as well as delivery
Reward & benefits
- A fair and competitive salary evaluated against market data, annual discretionary bonus scheme, pension, life assurance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and enhanced family leave.
- Commitment and dedication to your ongoing personal and professional development. We help you to own and grow your potential so you can be at your best in your current role and to support your future career aspirations.
- You will have access to a wealth of employee discounts across the Halfords suite of products and services.
- Wellbeing and inclusion are at the heart of our colleague experience. We offer resources and ongoing support to enhance your wellbeing at work and active Colleague Networks supporting inclusion initiatives across Halfords.
