JOB PURPOSE
Responsibility for operational delivery of keeping our colleagues, customers, sites, stock and cash safe and secure
Working with the Group Head of Profit Protection and other key stakeholders (Operations, people team, H&S, internal suppliers and external agencies) to deliver the strategic company people and asset protection plan
The role provides support to the business by focussing on the prevention and management of serious incidents within our stores and garages.
Working with external agencies, especially Police and business crime partnerships – reducing incidents in Halfords and stocklosses by targeting and reducing organised crime in our estate
JOB CONTEXT
Profit Protection is an independent, objective function which operates with the mission of adding value and reducing loss and minimising risk to our colleagues from violence and intimidation incidents.
The Group Security Incident Manager deals with serious incidents across Halfords Group, and is pivotal in supporting our strategy to reduce incidents and help protect our colleagues from violence and intimidation
The role will drive collaboration across our Profit Protection, H&S, people team and various Support Centre functions and field teams as required to raise awareness and prevent incidents - whilst also identifying any best practices or prevention methods to reduce the risk of occurrence.
A significant element of the role will be collaboration with other retailers, external law enforcement agencies (especially Police forces and business crime agencies) and security partners.
Develop relationships with our external networks which Halfords are members of – e.g. Pegasus
This will help ensure that Halfords benefits from the external support available, which will provide a deterrent for thieves and anti-social behaviour in our stores
Working with Halfords PR and external PR agencies to promote Halfords anti-theft and colleague protection programmes
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Serious incident identification and response - identify incidents quickly (via our company reporting systems) and prioritises response to support colleague welfare
- Incident resolution and coordination -lead incident resolution, either by troubleshooting directly or coordinating with relevant teams
- Communication - keep store/garage colleague, management, and other stakeholders informed about the status of ongoing incidents
- Root cause analysis -use incident data and analysis to understand root causes of incidents to reduce / remove future instances. Review of CCTV and Body worn video footage to follow up and understand incident cases
- Documentation and reporting - maintain incident database, including causes, actions taken, and resolutions.
- Follow up to serious incidents –in person where appropriate
- Training and preparedness - support training of colleagues on incident reporting protocols and response procedures
- Continuous Improvement -analyse incident trends to identify areas for improvement and engage regular with all available external agencies to ensure Halfords have the latest and most up to date best practices and law enforcement support – for all our colleagues benefit

This role is field based with overnight Stays as required with occasional visits to the Support Centre in Redditch, Worcestershire
