Aim: To support the apprenticeship team with all the administration activities for our National Apprenticeship programmes.

Working as part of the People Development team, for the Group Apprenticeship Team Leader, the role holder will support with the growth of apprenticeships across the group. You will act as a first point of contact for all apprentice administration related queries.

Key activities:

  • Support with the apprenticeship recruitment administration activities for all Group Apprenticeship Programmes
  • Update and maintain the spreadsheets and trackers for People Support and Co-ordinators
  • Responsible for maintaining the apprenticeship reports on a monthly basis
  • Monitor the Apprenticeship inbox and respond to emails in a timely & professional manner
  • Deal with all incoming enquiries for all Group Apprenticeship programmes – this could be through phone calls, teams or phone calls
  • Deal with Apprentice queries – over the phone or via email
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support with our work experience programme
  • Follow up on feedback from centres
  • Build and maintain relationships with training providers, colleges and schools
  • Co-ordinate and arrange attendance at careers events both within schools and colleges and larger national events
  • Internal event support National Apprenticeship Week, Celebrations, Apprenticeship launches, apprentice of the year
  • Ensure risk assessments are completed for work experience (sentinel)
  • Ensure Right to Works are being uploaded onto Dayforce
  • Ensure contracts are being returned
  • Processing Uniform orders
  • Liaise with colleges for enrolment dates and keep all parties up to date  
  • Support to the Apprenticeship Co-ordinators as and when required
  • Support the Group Apprenticeship Manager as and when required
  • Identify and implement improvements to processes
  • Support with any ad hoc tasks when they arise
  • Become an ambassador for Halfords promoting all career opportunities 
  • Support the training administrators when required
  • Use of Sentinel, Page Up, Dayforce,

Experience and Knowledge required:

  • Experience in a recruitment / apprenticeship admin role
  • Passionate about people
  • Intermediate – Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Ability to use other Microsoft Office programmes including Teams, Word and PowerPoint to a high standard
  • Previous experience of using an ATS platform
  • Ability to engage with all colleagues, communicating with them confidently and effectively about apprenticeships over the phone and on teams
  • Experience in building relationships
  • Positive, can-do attitude with the ability to adapt and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively as part of a wider team.
  • Have commercial awareness, strong attention to detail and ability to identify issues quickly and provide solutions in a timely manner
  • Display the Halfords Values at all times
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately
  • Undertake a DBS check

Desirable:

  • Knowledge on Apprenticeships / Government funded training programmes
  • Experience with recruitment marketing campaigns on social media platforms
