About us

Halfords is on a journey - building the future of motoring and cycling and looking for people who want to help shape what comes next. We’re a place for co‑creators: people who want to make a real impact, take ownership and be part of something that’s still evolving.

As the UK’s leading retailer of motoring and cycling products, we’re supported by one of the country’s largest independent vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair networks through Halfords Autocentres. This breadth gives us a strong, stable foundation - and the freedom to keep innovating and growing.

That means real variety for our colleagues, along with the opportunity to learn, stretch and develop as the business moves forward. Whatever your role, you’ll be part of a team focused on delivering exceptional service - using your expertise to solve problems, guide customers and help keep the nation moving with confidence.

  • Own and enhance costing models and inventory accounting, always looking for smarter, better ways of working
  • Build strong relationships across the business, becoming a trusted partner who provides clear financial guidance and makes finance accessible to non-finance teams
  • Champion strong financial controls and compliance, maintaining high standards across the team
  • Create and continuously improve processes and SOPs, spotting opportunities to drive efficiency and positive change
  • Support, coach and encourage junior team members, helping them grow in confidence and capability

About you

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
  • Strong management accounting expertise, delivering accurate, high-quality outputs
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
  • Excellent communicator and relationship builder, able to translate financial information for non-finance audiences
  • Organised and collaborative, capable of managing priorities, improving processes, and developing others
  • Experience within complex environments, including multi-entity structures, audits, and statutory reporting
  • Knowledge of costing methodologies, financial frameworks (e.g. IFRS 16, SOX), and data tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) advantageous
