About the role

Step into the heart of our commercial team as a Proposition Manager, where strategy meets execution. In this pivotal role, you’ll craft and deliver innovative, customer-centric propositions that don’t just solve today’s challenges but anticipate tomorrow’s opportunities. From designing visionary solutions and compelling narratives to setting out clear commercial targets and KPIs, you’ll shape the direction of the business while keeping customer value at the core. With the freedom to think big and the tools to test fast through MVP methodologies, you’ll turn ideas into tangible, high-impact outcomes.

Our scope is as diverse as it is exciting, whether it’s reimagining pricing strategies or creating service-led propositions that transform customer experiences. Success in this role comes from being an agile all-rounder: someone who can simplify the complex, balance customer needs with commercial imperatives, and deliver with precision. If you’re ready to influence strategy, inspire teams, and unlock real business value, this is your chance to make a visible impact where it matters most.

Key responsibilities

  • Co-design and influence retail propositions across key areas (Expertise, Value, Convenience, Service), shaping a long-term vision in partnership with buying and marketing teams.
  • Define, develop, and build business cases for new commercial opportunities, championing them across multiple stakeholders.
  • Create realistic growth plans that align propositions with target customer cohorts and deliver commercially viable solutions.
  • Lead and co-own the end-to-end proposition lifecycle, inspiring and engaging stakeholders from conception to delivery.
  • Proactively remove blockers and manage dependencies, setting clear schedules and governance to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Partner with marketing and CX/UX teams to shape messaging, positioning, and execution, supported by clear briefing documentation.
  • Ensure alignment on execution plans, challenging approaches that don’t meet commercial goals or customer needs.
  • Work closely with CX to design customer journeys, identifying and addressing potential points of failure.
  • Present opportunities and secure investment at board level with compelling, insight-led communication and collateral.
  • Provide executive-level updates on delivered propositions, measuring against business cases and recommending next steps.

About you

  • Proven experience in designing and delivering successful propositions, ideally from a category management, propositions, or programme management role.
  • Skilled at influencing stakeholders with clear frameworks and guiding teams towards shared commercial goals.
  • Confident communicator, able to present succinctly with engaging visuals to all levels, including director and board level.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in building robust business cases and aligning them to measurable outcomes.
  • Highly organised and resilient, with the ability to simplify complexity and manage multiple priorities.
  • Positive, proactive mindset with the ability to maintain focus in a faced paced Retail environment.
