About the role

As a Social Media Executive at Halfords, you’ll create and plan high-quality content and ads for both paid and organic social media, targeting the right audience with the right tone of voice. You'll be responsible for creating engaging video content, monthly content plans, and effective paid campaigns across multiple platforms.

You will play a pivotal role in driving relevant brand awareness, consideration and engagement through the delivery of a robust plan that delivers through the line, consistent communications.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Working directly with the Social Media Manager to implement a social first social media strategy.
  • Create engaging video and static content optimised for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, following platform best practices and algorithms.
  • Assist the planning & implementation of social media content both on and off page by working with key internal stakeholders from the wider marketing mix as well as category trading teams. Considering seasonally relevant themes, external events and competitor activity.
  • Collaborate with agencies to identify the most suitable influencers for achieving campaign goals, ensuring that all content aligns with brand standards and resonates with target audiences.
  • Maintain the social media content plan, helping to ensure it is customer-led & social first, whilst supporting the key business pillars and campaigns at all times.
  • Experience with Paid Social ads on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube is essential, to understand how we can continue to innovate and disrupt on these platforms. You’ll be required to implement and develop our paid social strategy to achieve record breaking performance metrics.
  • Manage and collate feedback on the social campaigns. Liaise with the Category Trading teams to collate their feedback in order to move the content and approach forward.
  • Carry out competitor reviews to establish best in class social formats and strategy across both paid and organic social.

 

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of platform algorithms and social media trends across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Content creation experience producing strong-performing video content tailored to platform algorithms.
  • Confidence and assertiveness when dealing with a variety of external agencies and internal stakeholders at different levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Previous experience in a similar role desirable.
  • Strong capability for analysing campaign data.
  • Good copywriting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
