As one of our Area Sales Managers you play key role to generate new, and profitably manage existing, sales contracts in the Commercial Vehicle Tyre Service market. 

McConechy’s Tyre Service Ltd. is one of the UK’s largest independent supplies of tyres and high-quality automotive products. The company is based in Ayr and has garages throughout Scotland, the north of England and Yorkshire. McConechy’s is now a Halfords company and was acquired in November 2019.

Key responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales and profit targets
  • Win new business
  • Successfully manage accounts to improve profitability, customer satisfaction and enable ongoing contract renewals
  • Develop and deliver customer and account plans
  • Network/knowledge
  • Negotiating price and service variables within pre agreed boundaries
  • Support invoicing and credit control functions to ensure excellent receivables
  • Work collaboratively with the local Operations teams to share objectives and mutually understand capabilities and practices to improve our customer proposition and ensure contracted Service Levels can be met.
  • Actively participate in exchange of best practice with colleagues
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values.
  • Promote the company within the marketplace through sales activities, networking and engagement
  • Ambassador for  the company values

What we're looking for:

  • Have experience of the Commercial Vehicle Tyre market
  • Demonstrate strong B2B relationship building skills, with the ability to develop comprehensive growth strategies.
  • Have excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills.
  • Possess strong commercial awareness with proven negotiation skills and ability to achieve sales targets
  • Extensive experience and ability in all aspects of Customer Relationship Management
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Willingness to travel
  • Be target driven and passionate about achieving success.
  • A full driving licence and ability to use Microsoft packages are required
